Chris is our Apprentice

As part of 2LS’ expansion we have recently taken on a couple of new team members. One of which, Chris, joined us this week to strengthen our support capabilities and was placed as part of the UK Governments apprenticeship scheme. This programme aims to place 16-24 year olds into businesses and provides additional training and support to the individual over and above what the company may provide. So, in our case, Chris will receive training in our GRIP recruitment software as well as working towards an NVQ. This is excellent for both parties as we get a motivated team member and they get a great start to their working life.
We heard this week that Chris and myself are to be interviewed by the BBC next week for a piece that they are doing on what they are calling the ‘alternative freshers week’. This is highlighting school leavers that have A Levels but have chosen not to go to university for one reason or another, perhaps to take a gap year or to go straight to work.
2LS were chosen to be interviewed as the apprenticeship we are offering is IT based rather than the more traditional trades based schemes that people associate with apprenticeships. During his time with us Chris will learn a wide variety of skills that are required for his support role including call handing, problem solving and development.
As I write this the transmission date and time is still to be confirmed but I will post an update once details are known.
In the meantime if you call the office and speak to support it could be that you speak to Chris, our budding TV star, so be sure to say hi!
